Hi everyone !
I recently got back in touch with my kit, after too many years
The link for the software update that allow users to control velocity doesn’t seem to be active anymore.
Anyone knows where I could find a new link for this update ?
Thanks !
Tristan
Hi @Tristan,
- I would actually try if the firmware isn’t already installed on your automat. Please go to https://automat-configurator.dadamachines.com/ and see which version is detected.
- If you still have version 1.X.X you can follow the update guide here:
Firmware Update | dadamachines/docs
Best case download the dadaupdatefilesnew_2.0.0.zip from this link which is also linked on the docs page.
3. This video explains a bit about the settings with the configuration tool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnedVLVNZiU
4. If you are working with Ableton LIVE you can also use the length of the Notes to archive dynamics. For that you don’t need to update the firmware no matter which version you currently have.
Hi @johannes and thank you so much for the instructions.
However they do not seem to work. I thought it was because I’m running on MacOs Sierra 10.13 on an old computer, but I tried on my gf recent macbook pro and the two issues were similar.
Short version : the AUTOMAT Usb stick won’t appear in the browser.
Long version : the terminal window reacts very differently from the step by step instructions you gave and I can’t complete the process in the end.
Any other way ? Length of midi notes is quite inconvenient for me since I’m partly controlling the motors while playing live.
Thanks !
Probably it’s best we do the update together. If it’s actually needed. As all automats are shipped with the “new” firmware since 4 maybe 5 years!
Did you check the Version in the configurator?
To setup a call please check this link: Meeting | dadamachines
Cheers, J
Thanks ! I booked an appointment.
The version doesn’t appear in the configurator. However I’m pretty sure I run on the first firmware, since I’m an original first kickstarter buyer (definitely more than 5 years )
Good!
I will Email you with the Meeting Link
Let’s see that we get you up and running again asap!
