I don’t own the Dada Machine kit (and I know they’re out of stock right now), but I just wanted to check on a thing before I go hunting down one.
Is it possible to make the cables longer - as long as 20-30 meters? I want to use the Dada Machines for a sound installation where each beater will be placed in different parts of a larger space.
Hi @Night_Gestalt you could make longer cables. But I am not sure how much force you will use due to voltage drop. This also depends on the diameter of the wires / cable. There are no longer cables available to buy from dadamachines as this would get us into problems with CE/FCC certification.
But of course you can make your own longer cables.
I would recommend using this kind of adapter to build your own cables in an easy way without soldering:
What type of red and black wire would be used for the extension? So which AWG + mm² ? I’m unsure how you find out this. Any help is appreciated thank you.
Hi, the cables of the toolkit are 0,25mm². So AWG 22, 23, 24 are all fine. Possibly also lower values. You can find ready made extension cables in different length if you search for “5.5 2.1 dc extension cable”.
